Runescape - Which makes more money?
in fishing i have 71 fishing and Im trying to decide whether to fish Swordfish or lobsters but im not sure which one makes more money

Lobsters make less money, but are easier to catch, as they are the only things catchable by the lobster pot. So, the swordfish are worth more, but harder to catch, because their are more types of fishes to catch with the harpoon.

If it was a felony and mandatory 2 year prison sentence to hire and illegal?
Not just the hireing manager but all they way up to the CEO and everyone in bettween, now lets throw in mandatory felony for anyone renting to an illegal, and a mandatory felony for and high school administrator to not report illegals (I know they have a supreme court right to be educated)

Do you think the illegal immigrant landscape would change.

Thanks

WHY would we want to put the responsibility of controlling immigration on the Private sector when the Fed Govt. has proven they can’t control it????????
ValleyR | Feb 06, 2010

It is already a felony, but I agree with a mandatory sentence, it should be longer than 2 years. I would go for the full 10 years.

A person (including a group of persons, business, organization or local government) commits a federal felony when he:

assists an alien whom he should reasonably know is illegally in the U.S. or who lacks employment authorization, by transporting, sheltering, or assisting him to obtain employment,
encourages that alien to remain in the U.S., by referring him to an employer, by acting as employer or agent for an employer in any way, or
knowingly assists illegal aliens due to personal convictions.
Penalties upon conviction include criminal fines, imprisonment, and forfeiture of vehicles and real property used to commit the crime.

Anyone employing or contracting with an illegal alien without verifying his work authorization status is guilty of a misdemeanor. Aliens and employers violating immigration laws are subject to arrest, detention, and seizure of their vehicles or property. In addition, individuals or entities who engage in racketeering enterprises that commit (or conspire to commit) immigration-related felonies are subject to private civil suits for treble damages and injunctive relief.

Recruitment and Employment of Illegal Aliens
It is unlawful to hire an alien, to recruit an alien, or to refer an alien for a fee, knowing the alien is unauthorized to work in the United States.1 It is equally unlawful to continue to employ an alien knowing that the alien is unauthorized to work.2 Employers may give preference in recruitment and hiring to a U.S. citizen over an alien with work authorization only where the U.S. citizen is equally or better qualified.3

It is unlawful to hire an individual for employment in the United States without complying with employment eligibility verification requirements.4 Requirements include examination of identity documents and completion of Form I-9 for every employee hired. Employers must retain all I-9s, and, with 3 days advance notice, they must be made available for inspection.

Employment includes any service or labor performed for any type of remuneration within the United States, with the exception of sporadic domestic service by an individual in a private home.5 Day laborers or other casual workers engaged in any compensated activity (with the above exception) are employees for purposes of immigration law.6
Kize | Feb 06, 2010

Problem is that most employers do check credentials to prevent hiring illegals, but immigration-law violators break other laws. Number One for child-identity theft is illegal aliens. They steal a child’s SSN, submit it to the employer, and that number VERIFIES!

Furthermore, there are even more stringent penalties for not hiring minorities. Employers are coerced into hiring "minorities" and "immigrants" under threat of lawsuits, fines, and worse for "discrimination."

Besides, it is the illegal alien who broke the law to begin with. Fine plus prison, then mandatory deportation with permanent bar to reentry for al illegal aliens who defraud employers into hiring them. In addition to identity theft, etc, charges. Make defrauding the employer a felony, and make them pay the $10,000 fine.

Then those employers who actually do go hire illegals without verifying can pay their own fines, and those employers who are defrauded despite reasonable precautions are protected since those who deceived and defrauded them pay the penalty.

Oh yes, and less than half of all illegal aliens ever "work" - whether under-the-table or using false docs. The majority of illegal aliens are "dependents" or "have alternate means of support" (i.e. crime). So how are you going to get rid of most of the illegals if you just punish employers?

Put the onus on the original criminal - the immigration-law violators.
ibu guru | Feb 06, 2010

I believe Congress is trying very hard to protect employers from that very thing. And as long as they are protected from punishment, they will abuse, and they have abused.

It is a great idea… getting it done is a very different problem.

Party Monster (2003)

IMDB rating: 5.90

Plot: Set in the New York club scene of the late 1980’s thru the 1990’s, a tale which chronicles the rise and fall of club-kid promoter ‘Michael Alig’ (qv), a party organizer, whose extravagant life was sent spiralling downward when he boasted on television that he had killed his friend, roommate, and drug dealer, Angel Melendez. Originally from Indiana, Alig moved to New York, and came to be an underground legend, known for his excessive drug use and outrageous behavior in the club world. At his peak, he had his own record label, and magazine, and hosted Disco 2000, one of the biggest club nights in New York in the ’90s. He was doing a lot of drugs, and as his addiction got worse, his party themes became darker and more twisted. Alig’s saga reached its tragic crescendo when he viciously murdered his drug dealer, Angel, by injecting him with Drano and throwing him in the East River. The power he wielded on the club scene made him feel untouchable, so he didn’t hestitate to boast of the murder. The press thought it was a publicity stunt—until Angel’s body washed ashore.

soldiers, what do you think about the movie "In the Valley of Elah"?
have any of you soldiers actually been to iraq, been through combat, and saw those things on the road? what do you think about how the movie portrays soldiers with PTSD? is it really that scary? do you think this movie is very true, or just bs?
i’m really curious about this stuff, i need to know cuz i’m going to be joining the army.
if you havent seen it, maybe you should. after seeing what was in the movie, it kinda scared the crap outta me.
not only IEDs, do you see dead bodies on the road all the time?

I don’t watch any movie based on Iraq or Afghanistan any longer, and this did not make the list of the ones I’ve seen. The majority of movies about the current conflicts tend to depict soldiers/marines as mindless killers, incapable of doing anything but killing, drinking, raping and other mindless behavior and that we are incapable of adapting to normal life. I would rather never return to civilian life if that is how the genereal public views those of us who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan. Yes, PTSD is real, and yes, IED’s and VBIED’s are scary, but no one cares, they are far too interested in the political aspects to care about how we, as soldiers, feel and adapt to civilian life.

Dear Mr. President,
Come take a walk with me.
Let’s pretend we’re just two people and
You’re not better than me.
I’d like to ask you some questions if we can speak honestly.

What do you feel when you see all the homeless on the street?
Who do you pray for at night before you go to sleep?
What do you feel when you look in the mirror?
Are you proud?

How do you sleep while the rest of us cry?
How do you dream when a mother has no chance to say goodbye?
How do you walk with your head held high?
Can you even look me in the eye
And tell me why?

Dear Mr. President,
Were you a lonely boy?
Are you a lonely boy?
Are you a lonely boy?
How can you say
No child is left behind?
We’re not dumb and we’re not blind.
They’re all sitting in your cells
While you pave the road to hell.

What kind of father would take his own daughter’s rights away?
And what kind of father might hate his own daughter if she were gay?
I can only imagine what the first lady has to say
You’ve come a long way from whiskey and cocaine.

How do you sleep while the rest of us cry?
How do you dream when a mother has no chance to say goodbye?
How do you walk with your head held high?
Can you even look me in the eye?

Personal Sports betting/Bookies?
i am looking for a bookmaker (Bookie) that i can place personal bets with.
i have seen it in movies A lot and to be honest i’m unsure if this is even legal, but if it is all good i think this is a great idea. kinda develop a personal relationship with someone who can guide me and help me with betting. If anyone has ever seen the movie "2 for the money" something like that. i also remember seeing it in "the bad lieutenant port of call new orleans"

Was that the movie with Dinero and Matthew whatshisname?

They weren’t bookies, they were a gambling service. People paid them money, they gave them their picks, but they never placed bets with them. They weren’t bookies. In theory, people called their bookie after getting the picks.

There are plenty of legal gambling services out there, but you’d better be betting a lot to even consider if they are worth the money they cost (and it’s doubtful they are worth anything anyway)

LegFuJohnson | Jan 18, 2010

Bookies are quickly becoming a thing of the past. There are plenty out there, I’m sure, but most folks are going the safer route of on-line betting.

Best thing about on-line betting is you can’t bet money that you don’t already have. You make the deposit first, and THEN you make your bet. Nobody’s gonna break your legs if you can’t pay, because you already paid.

The fact that you go bankrupt after maxing out all your credit cards and can’t pay your mortgage is another story altogether.

wow, that was one crazy movie. The final butcher was the man trying to get the truth, he was jsut turned into the butcher at the end. They played the end at the biginning and then the end.

LGBT: Does the LGBT reinforce its own stereotypes?
I’m gay, and don’t consider myself homophobic (maybe I am, who the hell knows). However, I have a problem with how the gay community interacts with the world. For instance, every pride parade I’ve been to comes with almost-naked men dancing on floats (like a giant bachelorette’s party). On the sidelines, (well-meaning) civic groups hand out condoms, and sometimes theres a free HIV/AIDS test booth. These are the types of events that are billed as a way to strengthen the local LGBT’s community. OK, fun is fun, but I feel that whether they want to or not, these people are representing the entire gay community - and I feel like this just reinforces the stereotypes the outside world has of us. The fact that I am in a multi-year, monogamous relationship (and keep my damn clothes on in public at 3 in the afternoon) makes me feel like a rarity as a gay man, and angry that the Religious Right will just use these images to rally their bigotry.

My question is this: in order to become tolerated and accepted by America as a whole (and secure equal legal rights), don’t we need to be showing others how mature and respectable we can be (and defy stereotypes)? No one is handing out condoms or AIDS tests at the St. Patrick’s Day Parade or the Columbus Day Parade, so why is it OK that we get slapped with this label?

Or am I just a self-loathing bigot? Thoughts.

Pretty much.

At the same time the community grouses about being pidgeonholed, it sets about restricting itself even more to what other people expect.

I dream of a day when I can’t tell whether someone’s gay or straight just by looking at him or talking to him for two minutes.

Wolfe | Jan 25, 2010

Ohh, I don’t think you are wrong at all.

These stereotypes do not represent me, and, quite frankly, I don’t think they represent all of the LGBT community.

I think this kind of thing does a lot more harm than good, when it comes to the general population becoming more accepting and tolerant of LGBTs.
Razz | Jan 25, 2010

Not sure what the free HIV/AIDS test booths have to do with LGBT. Sexually transmitted diseases do not discriminate through orientation. Anybody can get one.

I’m sure you’re not the only one who thinks this way. You seem a bit self-loathing, but I’m sure everyone is at one point in their life. I think you should just worry about yourself, and not about every other gay person. Best of luck.
Johnny | Jan 25, 2010

I’m gonna become famous one day and then while I’m in the middle of a talk-show I’ll just be like "Oh… yeah I forgot to mention something Oprah 2.0, I’m gay."

Worldwide panic, chaos in the streets, fires igniting everywhere.

Nah, the stereotypes will be down by then.

I don’t like "Pride" events where it’s support for one group, it makes me feel like something’s wrong with the picture.

A humanity event? Okay, I’m all for it.

But I think it does more harm than good when people are secluded into their own groups.

I don’t think of myself as "The Gay One" or "The Multiracial One" or "The Agnostic One". I think of myself as a member of humanity.

Sexuality, race, and religion don’t even pop into my head anymore.

Ignorance and prejudice tend to grow likes weeds along with segregation.

Here’s when she has to choose one way: tell Nicolet and Dargus about Ordell Robbie (the arms dealer) and get her freedom -except that if Ordell suspects you’re talking about him, you’re dead- or keep her mouth shut and do some time. That’s when she meets Max Cherry -her bail bondsman-, a late fifties, recently separated, burnt-out man, who falls in love with her. Then Jackie comes up with a plan to play the Feds off against Ordell and the guys he works with -Louis Gara and Melanie Ralston, among others- and walk off with their money. But she needs Max’s help. Why did Jackie Brown help Ordell in the first place?

She’s a flight attendant for a low budget airline, but obviously has dreams of making more of herself than that - hence she smuggled money for Ordell.

It was only after she was busted by the ATF that she and Ordell started fueding…after that, she knew Ordell would likely try to kill her, as he had done to Beaumont.
