What's the best way to get a goodnight's rest?
Come night time, I never feel like going to sleep. I seem very active, and I always want to do something. This gets in the way when I need to get up early, and I can never get a goodnight’s rest. I kind of find sleeping as boring. Is there a solution besides sleeping pills? I don’t like taking medicine.
Take a walk if possible about an hour before bed time. It helps get some of that energy out.
triggerlily | Jun 20, 2007
Yeah i would agree with taking a walk or jogging at night.
No drinking coffee because that will keep you up, and sleep at least 30 minutes or more after you are done eating so it can digest.
eve c | Jun 20, 2007
Hot bath works for me! If you don’t want to take a shower/bath, throw your blanket in the dryer for 10 minutes and wrap up in it.

What was the better trade Matt Holliday to Saint Louis or Cliff Lee to Philidelphia?
I would like prospects compared and if you think they will impact the same team next year? Thanks.
Holliday to St. Louis. Because this season, Holliday is MUCH better than Cliff Lee.
Alec | Aug 18, 2009
ooo good question. well right now id have to say matt holliday since ive been able to hear about him cause hes been with the cardinals longer. hes a very good hitter and is a very hard out. its a good hitter to have behind pujols when pujols is struggling
but my answer might cahnge cause cliff lee has been great so far but havent been able to get a real look since he hasnt pitched a lot in the national league this year. lee was a very good addition to the phillies. it boosted their rotation a ton. great lefty too. seems like a good hitter too lol
bigz2364 | Aug 18, 2009
Matt Holiday to the Cards, the prospects they gave up weren’t the same as the Phils. Plus Pujols finally got the big bat he needed.
True Nets and Yanks fan | Aug 18, 2009
holliday.
now he and albert can be like the babe and lou gehrig.
James | Aug 18, 2009
The Cubs get the award the stupidest and dumbest and worst trade in the history of baseball. Allowing mark Derosa to be traded for Cleveland for pitchers that cant even pitch and allowing the Cardinals to aquire him. Jim hendry and his entire family need to fucking die.
Suicidal Cubs Fan | Aug 18, 2009
Holliday, he has been more impressive on the Cards than Lee on the Phils

Read this on OU-Texas confusion?
didn’t write this article…but I certainly could have!!! sorry its so long
Article from today’s Fort Worth Star Telegram…
Human Element is the Bug in the BCS System
In the eternal struggle of man versus machine, man failed miserably Sunday.
That’s not to say that the right team won’t be playing in the Big 12 Championship Game on Saturday. The Oklahoma Sooners argued their case eloquently.
They said nothing.
No rented planes circling over Austin. No phone-ins from Bob Stoops in the middle of Mack Brown’s Thanksgiving dinner.
Just football. Just a 61-41 victory in hostile environs over a VERY GOOD, No. 11-ranked archrival.
The Sooners’ decisive win Saturday over Oklahoma State was as significant a road victory as any team in the Big 12 Conference achieved this season.
There’s your tiebreaker.
As myopic Texas fans - and their head coach - conveniently decline to acknowledge, there was a three-way knot, not a two-team tie, atop the Big 12 South standings.
Why should a single game played Oct. 11 decide everything? Why not a game played Nov.
1?
Yet, over and over again over the past two weeks, Brown had filibustered for voters not to forget his Texas team’s October victory over20the Sooners.
Never mind, he seemed to say, that just one week ago Oklahoma took apart a then-undefeated, No. 2-ranked Texas Tech team by 44 points - the same Tech team that beat Texas on Nov. 1.
Never mind that the Sooners’ season ledger included nonconference victories over TCU and BCS-bowl-bound Cincinnati.
Longhorns fans countered by trumpeting their Oct. 18 - what is it about October? - win over the Missouri Tigers.
Oh, right. The team that Kansas beat.
In the end, what could Brown have done for me?
He could have just shut up and allowed his team’s memorable 11-1 season do the talking for all of Longhorns, Inc.
Instead, Brown began to show up on TV more than that Geico lizard. The poor-taste clincher came Saturday night when he agreed to be interviewed in the middle of the Oklahoma-Oklahoma State telecast.
Why didn’t Oklahoma do that, Stoops was asked Sunday?
"I was asked to be on the Texas game Thursday," the OU coach said, "and I said no. I didn’t want to do it. I didn’t think it was right.
"
Stay classy, Austin, Stoops was saying, without mentioning any names.
But as Stoops and the Sooners saw, Brown’s politicking for his team worked. The Longhorns gained ground in both of the human polls.
Go figure. Texas, playing at home, defeated a vastly disappointing Texas A&M team 49-9 in a game that Colt McCoy was still quarterbacking in the fourth quarter.
Oklahoma, meanwhile, playing on the road, knocked off the No. 11 team in the nation - and yet lost ground in the human polls to the Texas poor-us campaign.
"It was the campaigning.
I don’t think there’s any question," said Jerry Palm, whose CollegeBCS. com Web site is the bible for all things BCS.
For all the whining, in other words, about computers and formulas and BCS rules, the human element continues to be the bug in the equation. The same thing happened in 2004 when writers and coaches, after Brown again had politicked all week, leapfrogged Texas over Cal in the final poll and sent the Longhorns to the Rose Bowl.
Everyone seems to complain about the so-called "BCS computers," but as Stoops said, "They don’t have agendas. They don’t have loyalties. They don’t have opinions. They don’t have all the bias that everyone else does.
"And if you say no one else does, I don’t think you’re being truthful.
"
When the numbers were finally added, Stoops thinks that the strength of Oklahoma’s schedule likely was the determining factor that will send his team to Kansas City next weekend.
It’s probably not going to make TCU feel any better, but the Horned Frogs might well have sent the Sooners to the national championship game.
"For people to continue to want to play out-of-conference games that people want to watch and go to and be excited about," Stoops said, "there has to be an incentive. Otherwise, just schedule four wins and move on down the road. You could almost schedule a bowl game by that.
"
If Texas wants to blame anyone today, it needs to blame the guy that scheduled Florida Atlantic, UTEP, Arkansas and Rice. Similar cream-puff scheduling cost undefeated Auburn a title game shot in 2004.
This time, fortunately, the six BCS formula computers cut through the rhetoric.
They judged the football, not the filibuster. And Oklahoma came out the winner in more ways than one.
the only fact that should matter is texas beat ou
how many top 10 teams did ou beat this year?how many number 1 teams did ou beat this year?
ou has given up an average of 30 points the last 7 games as well.does that sound like a number 2 ranked team?
texas can schedule the citadel everyweek and win everygame by 100 but the fact remains ou lost to texas

That was a really long rant! Sure, I agree with whatever it said if it makes you feel better.
By the way, are you going to watch once again as the Sooners get knocked out in a BCS game. What is their record in bowls recently?
turnxx5 | Dec 04, 2008
Wow…a guy with an opinion! So what?
He’s entitled to his opinion just like everyone else…but the majority of the people in an ESPN poll (as well as the Harris poll) thought that Texas deserved the nod over OU to represent the Big 12.

Very good article. Lot of truth said in their. I know Texas beat OU in October, everyone does. 35-45 I know the score. I didn’t need to be reminded. In an argument with many angles the best UT could come up with was the head to head win. Im a firm believe that if there is a 3 way tie then the head to head game obviously didn’t solve anything. So why should it once Tech is beaten as badly as they were. People tend to forget Tech was in control that entire game against UT until the 4th quarter. Lot of things happened.
OU takes pride in scheduling some tough teams. We don’t like blowing out a bad team 70 to nothing. Sometimes it happens but we like competitive games. It also hurts us in ways. Injuries possible losses. They also effect defensive stats more then people realize they do a lot of damage even when you win.
USC has tried to fix this in scheduling Ohio State and vice versa. Teams are starting to realize that their is more to just winning every game. Look at Utah and other undefeated non BCS conference teams. If they played a couple of tough teams in their they would be sitting in the title game instead of someone else. People keep arguing this fact and going against it and it always costs them.
As an avid OU fan I am glad we got the chance to represent the wonderful division of the big 12 south. I hope my boys do good up their in KC. I also hope we get healthy enough to give us a title run. We have a lot of injuries on the defensive side of the ball.
If the UT win over OU was THAT important then Ole Miss would be ranked a lot higher then 24th for their win AT Florida. Everyone knows teams can get beat on any given Saturday. Just because one team beats another it only means they were the better team that day, not that season.
And to the fella who thinks OU will choke just because it has happened a couple of years. Go look at the NCAA records. See where OU ranks in total bowl wins and national titles and conference titles. That will tell you all you need to know about a winning tradition.

So very true. Hey, Texas has no one to blame but themselves. They were ranked number 1, and couldn’t hold on to it. Sure they won a few games against top ranked opponents (howbeit at home and by only a few points), but when the real test came, they failed miserably. I get tired of hearing Mack Brown crying all the time. Hey, what goes around comes around. Can anyone say 2004?
RIVERKID | Dec 04, 2008
Amen.
Jan | Dec 04, 2008
As a Red Raider fan I totally agree. Mack Brown didn’t even mention the loss in Lubbock, TX, because then he’d have to admit to losing to Texas Tech! It was a two horse race in austin, even though they lost to us. So now I’m going to use the TU logic and say we deserve the fiesta bowl cause " We beat them head to head!" Longhorns need to pick a little cotton in January!
